How to use JPG to PNG
- 1
Choose up to 20 JPG or JPEG images.
- 2
Apply shared settings to checked images or adjust each image separately.
- 3
Convert them locally, then download one file or every result as a ZIP.
Converting to PNG does not recover detail lost to JPG compression or remove the background. PNG files may be larger.
When to use this tool
Convert JPG to PNG when your next editing or publishing step needs PNG files. Add one image or a batch, apply shared settings to checked files, and keep individual settings where needed. Each picture keeps its dimensions and background. Changing the format cannot reverse detail already lost during the original JPG compression.
PRACTICAL EXAMPLE
Meeting a PNG-only upload requirement
- Start with
- A 1200 × 800 JPG that an application will not accept.
- What to expect
- Download a 1200 × 800 PNG version. Its filename and format change; its background is not removed.
Get a better result
- Keep the JPG original. PNG output can be much larger for photographic content.
- Use Image Resizer as a separate step if the target application also imposes a width or height limit.
Common questions
Will the PNG have a transparent background?
No. A JPG has no transparency to preserve. This converter does not identify or remove the background.
Are JPG and JPEG different inputs?
Both filename extensions commonly refer to the same image format, and both are supported by the JPG file chooser.
Can I convert several JPG images at once?
Yes. Add up to 20 images, convert the complete batch, and download every PNG in one ZIP file.
